AHCCCS Confirms Hospital Rate Increase by Joe Furia

Ann-Marie Alameddin, Vice President of Strategy and General Counsel

The Arizona Health Care Cost and Containment System (AHCCCS) has confirmed the hospital rate increase of 3% that AzHHA secured in the Governor’s budget. This increase will be distributed through a value based purchasing metric of participation in the state health information exchange (HIE), Health Current.  AHCCCS’ Differential Adjusted Payment (DAP) proposal will include a required letter of intent (LOI) submitted via email attachment by June 15th by all facilities in order to qualify for the increase. AzHHA has created a LOI template for its members to use and confirmed with AHCCCS that this template meets program requirements. Please note hospitals have varying levels of connectivity; you may check your hospital’s level here.  If you have technical connectivity questions, please contact Beth Scully at Health Current, 602-688-7216.  AzHHA members may request a LOI template by emailing Ann-Marie Alameddin.
