The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) expresses its gratitude as the Arizona House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted 57-1 in favor of passing HB2035, the Health Insurance Accountability bill. This resounding endorsement marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to address key issues to hold health insurance companies accountable.

This would not have been possible without bill sponsor Rep. David Cook's, leadership and hard work, so we extend our strongest thanks to him for taking this effort on for the second year in a row.

We also would like to send our thanks to hospitals and communities throughout Arizona that voiced their support for this.

"The approval of HB2035 by the Arizona House on Thursday marks a significant step in the right direction towards holding health insurance companies accountable by improving transparency on claim denials," said AzHHA CEO Ann-Marie Alameddin. "This bill underscores our commitment to prioritizing people and patients first. We believe that every Arizonan deserves access to affordable and high-quality healthcare, and this legislation is a great start to accomplishing that goal."

As the bill now advances to the Arizona Senate, AzHHA remains steadfast in its advocacy efforts and calls upon state senators to support this vital piece of legislation. AzHHA reaffirms its commitment to working collaboratively with policymakers and stakeholders to enact meaningful reforms that benefit patients, providers and the entire healthcare community.
