It's a Fact

  • The 2007 AzHHA Community Benefits Study revealed that Arizona's hositals together reached more than 1.5 million of the state's residents, approximately 25 percent of the population, with programs for underserved and uninsured Arizonans as well as other residents.

There to Care: Building A Healthy Arizona is an initiative launched by the AzHHA Board of Directors to build awareness of the myriad ways Arizona's hospitals contribute to their communities, beyond delivering established medical services. The goal of There to Care: Building A Healthy Arizona is to inform Arizona opinion leaders about the critical role that hospitals play in our state's economy as well as to demonstrate the many ways in which they serve as good corporate citizens in our communities.

AzHHA's There to Care: Building A Healthy Arizona umbrella encompasses projects that:

  • highlight the community benefits Arizona's hospitals provide to the state's residents;
  • measure the economic impact of hospitals in Arizona's communities;
  • promote ways to fight the flu; and
  • support hospitals involved in organ donation programs.
