Leadership Development Programs
AzHHA firmly believes that strong leadership is essential to the delivery of quality healthcare in Arizona. As a result, the Association supports a number of healthcare-specific leadership programs. These programs are designed to help officials of member organizations acquire the advanced skills they need to meet new challenges and effect positive change in their hospital environments:
Emerging Healthcare Leaders
Applications are now being accepted for the Class of 2008-2009. For more information and to download an application, click here. Please note: the application is in a writable PDF and may be completed electronically. Applications must be signed and mailed to the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association. Applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2008. Announcement of the 2008-2009 leadership class will be made in August.
This year long transformational leadership development experience is designed for small groups of highly motivated and extremely talented Arizona emerging healthcare leaders. The Emerging Leaders curriculum combines core leadership competency working sessions with multiple layers of applied practice in healthcare. Participants also receive one-on-one executive coaching, mentoring and a personal skills assessment. Since the program's inception in 2005, more than forty healthcare professionals have benefited from this leadership development experience.
AzHHA is pleased to partner with Steve Gogul, Solutions Consulting who will provide the comprehensive curriculum and monthly competency session facilitation. Steve has been the program facilitator for the past two years. Lee Hecht Harrison, a global provider of leadership consulting services will provide the executive coaching sessions. Arizona Healthcare Leadership Academy
The Arizona Healthcare Leadership Academy is a partnership between The University of Arizona College of Nursing, Eller College of Management, Arizona Nurses Association and the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association. Its goal is to develop leaders who have the confidence and skills to improve the quality of the healthcare work environment.
The Academy is two-tiered program, each tier consisting of four education days, designed to teach fundamental (Tier I) and advanced (Tier II) leadership skills to professionals in the healthcare industry. Participants receive 26.4 contact hours from the Arizona Nurses Association upon program completion.
The Academy also offers a new Directors Only program. Participants receive 22.5 contact hours from the Arizona Nurses Association upon program completion.
