AzHHA Service Corporation Preferred Vendors earn this valued designation by undergoing a thorough evaluation conducted by Association members who serve on the Preferred Vendor Committee.
Preferred Vendor Monthly Spotlight
The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, and its subsidiary AzHHA Service Corporation, are pleased to announce our newest preferred vendor StatPhone.
In 2012, 53,676 patients were “admitted from another hospital” and generated $2,950,642,601 in charges ($8,083,952 a day), Transferring patients between hospitals is currently a time- consuming arbitrary telephone-process that has no outcome tracking or accountability.
StatPhone.com is a hospital’s timely solution to getting the right patients into the right beds.
A sending hospital fills out an online transfer request form and selects preferred destinations. Destination hospitals can view, forward, and respond to requests on any computer, tablet or smart-phone. These same features are available through voice and key commands on any telephone.
StatPhone.com eliminates most transfer telephone calls allowing destination hospitals to respond to requests faster and sending hospitals can get the right patients into the right beds.
For sending hospitals:
● One method to access multiple destinations saves your staff’s precious time and energy trying to find a bed
● Getting acutely ill patients transferred faster increases your physician and staff productivity
● Monthly transfer reporting tell you what kinds of patients you are transferring and to what destinations
● No IT installation is required
For destination hospitals:
● Consistent source of referrals previously lost
● Customer service tools to accept transfers
● Real-time service line availability helps capture patients when you can, and doesn’t destroy referral patterns when you cannot
● Metrics to understand referral patterns and learn where to target your outreach efforts and increase census
● No IT installation is required

Peer Review - West Virginia Hospital Association Critical Access Hospital Network Peer Review
Rural communities need a safe learning environment for objective, retrospective and
prospective reviews of medical cases with a strong emphasis on confidentiality. The West Virginia Hospital Association Critical Access Hospital Network Peer Review Service is an effective and economical option for small rural and critical access hospitals to improve patient care by identifying opportunities to improve the process and delivery of patient care. The West Virginia Hospital Association Critical Access Hospital Network Peer Review Service provides just such an opportunity. To reduce costs, professionals or peers at participating hospitals perform external peer review. Through this service, we offer a true peer-to-peer rural, objective and confidential medical opinion, based on review of medical records. Peer physicians not only share opinions, but also personal learnings, current information and education related to the case reviewed. The West Virginia Hospital Association CAH Network believes creating a safe peer-to-peer learning network, with physicians supporting physicians, is beneficial to improve the safety and quality of patient care delivery.
