Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association names new Director of Government Relations

Valley native and healthcare lobbyist joins the team September 28, 2021

PHOENIX — The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) Monday announced Meghan McCabe joins the team as Director of Government Relations. McCabe joins AzHHA’s Policy and Advocacy team that supports hospitals and health system leaders across Arizona. Serving as the designated lobbyist before the Governor’s office and State Legislature, McCabe will work with members to

 shape AzHHA’s annual state legislative agenda.

“As a leading voice in healthcare policy and advocacy, we are pleased to have Meghan’s legislative background in Arizona healthcare added to the team,” said Debbie Johnston, AzHHA’s Executive Vice President who oversees policy and advocacy efforts for the organization.

AzHHA is the statewide association for hospitals and healthcare leaders devoted to collectively build better healthcare and health for the patients, people, and communities of Arizona. AzHHA works tirelessly to advance healthcare public policy and to initiate community programs to promote better health.

A native Arizonan, McCabe graduated from Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Society. She earned her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Washington. After law school, McCabe spent several years in Washington, DC, lobbying at a boutique government relations firm on behalf of universities and scientific societies. Following her time in the nation’s capital, McCabe returned to her home state and joined Arizona’s largest government affairs firm, where she spent several years representing a wide array of clients before the state legislature and municipalities. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Director of Government Relations for the Arizona Medical Association.
