PHOENIX — “The opioid epidemic touches ever corner of Arizona and families across our state. Arizona hospitals and healthcare providers see the human toll of opioid abuse every day.

“Solving this crisis requires an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ approach involving policymakers, addiction specialists, law enforcement, the healthcare community and more. Governor Ducey, House Speaker Mesnard and Senate President Yarbrough have provided essential leadership in confronting this issue, and we thank legislators for quickly coming together in bipartisan fashion.

“The Governor’s action today to sign the Arizona Opioid Epidemic Act into law is a great step, but our work is not done. Continued diligence is necessary. On behalf of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, we pledge our ongoing commitment to the effort to reduce opioid dependency and misuse in Arizona.”
