Phoenix, Ariz. (Oct. 17, 2024) — The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) Board of Directors announced today that it approved five new healthcare executives to serve on its board and confirmed its roster for 2025.
In association with its 20-member board, AzHHA brings together health leaders from across the state to tackle key issues and challenges they face every day. As a resourceful, influential and diverse hospital association, AzHHA works tirelessly to advance healthcare public policy to implement programs that promote better health.
The following Arizona healthcare executives were approved to join the AzHHA Board of Directors Thursday:
- Vicki Began, CEO, San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation
- Erica Brown, executive director, Creighton University, Arizona Health Education Alliance
- Jeff Comer, CEO, Summit Healthcare
- Chris Ruble, CEO, Quail Run Behavioral Health
- Dawn Tschabrun, CEO, Select Specialty Hospital – Tucson East
“As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, the power of the collective is more important than ever,” said Ann-Marie Alameddin, president and CEO of AzHHA. “With the guidance of this diverse and exceptional Board of Directors, we will harness this collective strength to advocate for hospitals that care for their communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
“Our hospitals are at the heart of communities throughout Arizona,” said Neal Jensen, outgoing AzHHA Board Chair and CEO of Cobre Valley Medical Center. “AzHHA’s work to advocate for hospital and healthcare best practices remains vital to the healthcare ecosystem.”
Following today’s vote, Jensen will turn the chairman’s gavel over to Dr. Bob Trenschel, president and CEO of Onvida Health, formerly Yuma Regional Medical Center.
“I look forward to continuing my service on the Board of Directors among an esteemed roster of Arizona healthcare leaders,” said Dr. Trenschel. “We will continue to fulfill our commitment to collectively build a healthier tomorrow.”
The new board members will serve a three-year term on the AzHHA Board of Directors with terms expiring in October 2027. Their tenure will begin at the next board meeting in December 2024.
AzHHA’s Board of Directors includes hospital and healthcare leaders representing various communities throughout Arizona – from large health systems to rural hospitals. The fundamental responsibilities of the board officers and Board of Directors are to set policy and broad strategic direction toward the fulfillment of AzHHA’s mission.
