AzHHA and the Health System Alliance of Arizona submit comments on Health Care Institution rulemaking

An illustration of hospitals on a Monopoly board

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, AzHHA and the Health System Alliance of Arizona (HSAA) submitted a comment letter to the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) on Health Care Institution (HCI) rules.

Why it matters: AzHHA convened a meeting between its members and the HSAA last week to consolidate feedback to represent Arizona hospitals. The comments reflect a shared commitment to ensuring patients receive quality care in a safe environment.

  • A key component of this commitment is regulatory compliance, which requires both regulators and regulated entities to have a shared understanding of the rules, including the regulator’s intentions.
  • We want to ensure our members can meet their regulatory obligations in a streamlined fashion to minimize administrative burden while promoting high-quality patient care.

We appreciate all the feedback provided by our members and will continue to keep you apprised of the rulemaking going forward.

If you have any questions or comments about the letter, please contact Debbie Johnston at [email protected].
