Professional and Community Education on Having the End-of-Life Conversation by Joe Furia

Karen Beckford, Director of Thoughtful Life Conversations

AzHHA’s Thoughtful Life Conversations (TLC) Program continues to bring training opportunities to communities across Arizona. These trainings provide individuals and healthcare professionals with the skills necessary to have quality conversations about advance care planning and building a diverse understanding of palliative and end-of-life care for people of all ages. We are also offering professional education for healthcare providers with a 2.5-hour didactic session that reviews the need for a systematic approach to having more, better and earlier conversations about patient values and priorities in serious illness. Providers will learn how to define a population with serious illness who may benefit from the serious illness conversation and explore alternative methods to improve communication in patients with serious illness with a structured communication tool. CMEs are available. If you would like to attend an upcoming training, click here for more information.

All trainings are available for groups of ten or more at your organization by request. For more information, contact Karen Beckford.
