Important guidance on immunization for COVID-exposed individuals

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued interim guidance for immunization services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the guidance, the CDC recommends individuals suspected Get_your_flu_vaccine_(2).pngto have or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 should not be scheduled for vaccinations until their quarantine and/or isolation period is over. Although maintaining up-to-date vaccination during the COVID-19 pandemic is essential, CDC says these individuals should postpone vaccination appointments to avoid exposing healthcare personnel and other patients to the virus that causes COVID-19.

Individuals who have not been diagnosed or exposed to COVID-19, on the other hand, are encouraged to get their flu shot as the flu season approaches. To find an Arizona flu vaccine location near you, visit the Arizona Department of Health Services’ flu specific webpage.

Each flu season the American Hospital Association (AHA) promotes its United Against the Flu campaign which encourages individuals to get their annual flu vaccine. As in previous years, AzHHA is proud to partner with the AHA in this important campaign. The AHA has made it easy for your organization to  spread the word about the importance of flu vaccines with tools and resources available on its United Against the Flu webpage which also features its latest digital toolkit.
