Medicaid Fiscal Accountability Regulation

The Trump Administration in November 2019 proposed a rule , the Medicaid Fiscal Accountability Regulation (MFAR), that would severely curtail the longstanding flexibility that states have to fund and pay for services in their Medicaid programs.

The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association, Arizona Health Care Association, Arizona Medical Association, Arizona LeadingAge, Arizona Association of Health Plans, Health System Alliance of Arizona and Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association in their joint letter to Governor Ducey outlines how the proposed regulation has a detrimental impact on the healthcare delivery system in Arizona.

As of January 2021, due to the concerns explained in the above letters, the MFAR was removed from the regulatory agenda.
