Sarah Dent is the Senior Clinical Director of OB Services at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea, a Level III High Risk community hospital with around 6000 births per year. Sarah has 23 years of experience in Obstetrics. She oversees 280 employees and is always interested in elevating the level of care delivered in her units. She has been the co-investigator in several research projects and many quality improvement projects, as well as being published in several studies. She graduated with her MSN-L from Grand Canyon University, and serves on the Board of the Arizona Perinatal Trust.

While use of acuity to make appropriate nurse:patient assignments is necessary, there have traditionally not been many high-quality tools available. The newly developed tools presented during this presentation have established validity and reliability. This presentation will discuss the elements of the Antepartum and NICU Acuity Grids, how the tools a can be used to help meet the 2022 AWHONN Staffing Standards, the electronic documentation of the tools, and variations of use and case studies. Tools will be made available to attendees after the presentation.
