As we collectively adjust to this bizarre beginning of the school year and the end of an unprecedented summer, it is important that we highlight and celebrate our collective successes. It is in this spirit that I am proud to present you with AzHHA’s 2020 Legislative Report. This report is an important snapshot of the value we as a hospital association provide to you as our member. The 2020 report is now available for download here.

Although COVID-19 response efforts took priority for most of this year, AzHHA accomplished many of its key objectives including the passage of an AHCCCS rate increase (HB2668, see page 8 in the report for details).  

As we look to crafting our upcoming legislative priorities, it is imperative healthcare leaders like us have a voice at the Arizona Legislature to defend against prospective healthcare spending cuts which may be proposed to offset looming state budget shortfalls. The AzHHA Political Action Committee—and your contribution to it—supports the re-election of candidates for state office who understand and will fight on behalf of Arizona’s healthcare issues.

As we continue to overcome the challenges COVID-19 presents, I am confident we will persevere and collectively work towards continue meeting the health and healthcare needs of the patients and communities we serve.
