AzHHA Member Hospitals and Healthcare Partners:
I am pleased to share our collective accomplishments through AzHHA’s 2023 Legislative Report. This year we made some notable headway in protecting Arizona hospitals from misguided legislation and solidified our collective strength among our healthcare-focused legislative partners.
Inside this report, we will detail our 2023 legislative wins including:
- a fix to the outpatient treatment center licensure issues (HB2346) and
- AHCCCS’s reauthorization.
We will also go deeper into detail about the events surrounding AzHHA’s priority legislation – Health Plan Accountability (HB2290). While the drama that was displayed during the 2023 session affected the passage of this bill, we are encouraged to report that the work we put in is shaping up to bring great rewards in 2024.
