American Hospital Association Grassroots Award
The Grassroots Award honors hospital leaders who demonstrate exceptional advocacy on behalf of patients, hospitals and their communities. Recipients of this award build strong relationships with lawmakers and use those connections to influence policy that strengthens healthcare access and quality.
This prestigious recognition is presented in partnership with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and AzHHA. It celebrates individuals who go above and beyond to ensure the voice of healthcare is heard at every level of government.
Why grassroots advocacy matters
Grassroots advocacy is the foundation of effective healthcare policy. When hospital leaders engage directly with legislators, they bring real-world perspectives to the decision-making process. These efforts help shape laws and regulations that protect patient care, preserve vital resources and strengthen the healthcare system for communities across Arizona.
