The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Foundation, DBA AzHHA Foundation, is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, tax ID 86-3244998, with an effective date of April 14, 2021. The AzHHA Foundation is subject to federal, state and local laws and regulations; therefore, any gifts will not fund lobbying or other political activities. Gifts are tax deductible, net any value donor receives for their contribution.
Supporting programs that advance health and healthcare in Arizona
The AzHHA Foundation is a public charity that supports the well-being of Arizona residents and serves the public good through charitable programs that advance the provision of quality healthcare and support the state’s healthcare delivery system in general. These programs are funded solely through gifts, grants and sponsorships.
Activities the AzHHA Foundation supports

Education
The AzHHA Foundation facilitates education for the Arizona healthcare community through webinars, trainings and conferences to augment hospital leaders’ knowledge of pertinent topics. This includes:- The annual Arizona Hospital Leadership Conference.
- The annual AIM Collaborative Conference for maternal health improvement.
- The Healthcare Leadership Academy, which cultivates mid-level hospital managers in preparation for executive leadership roles.

Healthcare improvement
The Care Improvement team works with hospitals across the state to deliver multiple programs that improve healthcare outcomes, including:- The Arizona Transition to Practice Program – aimed at preserving Arizona’s nursing workforce.
- The Arizona Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) Collaborative, which focuses on improving maternal health outcomes for both moms and babies.
- Advancing healthcare quality and ensuring health equity.
- Improving end-of-life care to ensure alignment with patients’ wishes.

Emergency preparedness and response
The Arizona Coalition for Healthcare Emergency Response (AzCHER) is the state’s healthcare coalition working to build resilience into the public health, emergency medical services, emergency management and healthcare delivery systems to prepare for, respond to and recovery from public health emergencies or disasters, like the COVID-19 pandemic and severe supply chain shortages.
Affiliation with AzHHA
The Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA) is the parent company of the Foundation and is the statewide 501(c)(6) trade association of hospital and healthcare providers funded through member dues. While AzHHA focuses on policy and advocacy at the state capitol, the AzHHA Foundation does not conduct lobbying activities and is solely philanthropic in focus.
